VIDEO | HIBERNIAN FC: PLAY FOR THE JERSEY

Just Sport Pro Club and Hibernian today published “Play for the Jersey”, a promotional video to coincide with the release of the 2015-16 Nike Home Strip, which goes on sale from Friday 19 June at 10am.

The strip marks a return to the traditional white sleeves, synonymous with the Hibernian jersey since they were first introduced in 1938, alongside a simple white collar with green trim and cuffs to match. The club also worked with sponsors Marathonbet to design the all-white logo, helped by feedback from supporter representatives Amit Moudgil and Frank Dougan as well as other supporter comments.

Our video gives a nostalgic look back to the days of playing football in the streets, jumpers for goalposts and heading down to Easter Road on a Saturday. New club captain David Gray features in the new Nike replica home strip alongside current first team players Paul Hanlon, Danny Handling and Farid El Alagui. Hibs Kids Craig and Jason Brydon, Todd Burgess, Noah and Samuel Doig, Mya Goodman, Carys Grieve and Darren Harvey also star, with the voiceover kindly provided by the iconic voice of football Archie Macpherson, a father to Hibs supporter Douglas and grandfather to Hibees Scott and Stuart Macpherson.

The soundtrack ‘Storyteller’ was provided by Hibs supporting band The Valkarys. The Club are delighted to support local Edinburgh artists, with local bands also featuring in the 2015-16 season ticket campaign and on Hibs TV.

Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said: “We are delighted with the design for the new home strip and accompanying kit launch video. The feedback from supporters following the preview shots from May has been very positive, and we hope that we’ll see plenty of our fans in the green and white around Edinburgh.

The video is symbolic of the increased connections the club are trying to build with the wider community. The work done by the Hibernian Community Foundation brings more people into contact with the club and the badge in a positive way, ultimately building the supporter base and the next generation of Hibs supporter.

Our community football programmes will be running across the summer, and I’m sure we’ll see plenty of kids having fun kicking a ball in Hibernian jerseys.”

With our clean white Marathonbet logo, we believe we have helped to create a kit the players and fans can take real pride in wearing”.
